• I originally opted for the basement in Belmont but was swapped and given the Attic by Andy- initially I didn’t think it would work – but after a visit I realised that the space was much better and more suited to what I had planned (as long as the big box could fit!)
  • Also the Attic is shared between three of us and I was really happy to share space and work with other artists
  • I completely cleared and whitewashed the space so that I could start with a fresh slate with help from June in 2nd year
  • I have started to work with the space, have opened up the cupboards and will install sound inside.  The floorboards creak, the roof is the playground of the birds and the pipes are weaving themselves around the space.
  • I have worked with the space I was given. I hadn’t planned exactly what I was going to do but waited until I had spent time in the attic.  Allowing the pipes to playfully move around the room.
  • The technical side is really difficult for me and I am really struggling. I have had tutorials with Dan who has advised technically, but otherwise have sourced advice outside the uni from networks of friends and family.  Dan advised about using the audio interface so that I could have separate tracks playing out at the same time.  One concern is to make it as easy as possible when setting up for the day and turning off
  • I have managed to get somebody to fix my speaker wires, increase their length and fit proper jacks for the audio interface that I have been trying to learn
  • I am trying to compromise with the natural light as both other artists want as least light as possible – I have boarded up as much is as possible and hope the projected film will light the space
