• I have been collaborating with poet Lucy Green
  • I have used Lucy’s poetry before in Sink Poetry
  • Lucy and I often talk through ideasĀ  – we explore shared themes and philosophies
  • Her poetry is best experienced when she performs it and we have looked at various ways to make visual her poems – the voice is key
  • I wanted to use her poetry as a sound within the pipes and also have sourced some old vintage phones which will enable you to hear the sound
  • There were various poems that we explored and the one that resonated with me was the one we recorded with the view to use as a piece – ‘Predator’
  • Lucy, on reflection, thought that there was something that wasn’t quite fitting with the poem and so wrote a poem with my work and installation in mind!! – ‘No place like home’
  • we recorded multiple versions – from sitting to standing to performing and have managed (with help) to get the landline to play the audio! I love the idea of the world of the old phone, the clunky dial and form and the familiar grip and hold at the ear
