have struggled with trying to find solutions for the pendulum of knobs.
I know I want to keep the audio but need to work on the form
I had trialled all sorts of ways to cluster the knobs together but the fishing wire looked tacky and they were tricky to take apart.
I ordered some guitar strings as felt that if I am going to experiment with this piece with sound and feedback, the guitar strings may add resonance or additional sound to the piece – they also look much better
In order for the cluster to work visually I needed to add something to separate out the strings – this also helped with height adjustments
I have spoken to AV stores who will have mics available next week – I intend to play the audio through a speaker underneath the pendulum with a mic amongst the cluster of knobs – I am guessing that this will create a feedback
i have also hung it from an old children’s mobile which turns it whilst playing a song – due to its weight I would need something stronger
