• Thinking about the domestic and the home I wonder about the traces that people leave when they have gone
  • they leave objects, clothes, memories and comfort
  • they can be immortalised in photographs, film and audio, for some they can still dial into their telephone numbers and hear their answer message
  • but what of the seat that the sat on, the stairs that they climbed or the fingers that traced the walls or hands that opened the doors
  • what if there were still traces of them hidden to our eye but embedded

I wanted to take swabs from around the house like a crime scene – I bought petri dishes and agar and swabbed around the house.

 

In retrospect I should have documented the growth of the bacteria on the petri dishes – something for the future!

It was actually the door knobs that looked more dramatic
