with Virginia Verran
- we were invited to not talk about our work but to listen to what others said first
- it was interesting and helpful to hear how people, with no prompt, how they read the piece
- the words that came up – memory, nostalgic, uncanny, adult/child distortion
- Is it a child or an adult?
- Layers on layers of film like a story
- Alice in Wonderland
- Mysterious, magical
- beguiling
- I was reassured and so happy to feel that I had conveyed to the viewer my intentions (more than happy!!)
- I asked for some constructive criticism from the group and Virginia – She said that she thought that all the edits worked really well, the film didn’t feel too long, I suggested that the only point at which the film lingered was the face projected onto the house which felt too long – this was agreed
- Artists to look at – Pierre Hoody & Stephen Chambers
- Tarkovsky – ‘The Sacrifice’ – especially slow mo of the milk jug
