Experimenting with wax, pigment and layers – inserting hair into wax as it sets, sewing into using heated needles. Carving and using inks looks messy but can adjust afterwards, tried acrylic but it looks too contrived and not part of the wax. The sewing with the heated needle only really works to attach or hang from the wax rather than surface words.
Manhandling of it smudges and marks the was but he overall effect of the ink and hair I was happy with. I liked the discomfort it evoked but think the words need to be clearer.
The hair at present looks a bit too skanky – am going to wash it and play with twisting, thinning and sewing with it to give it a line that I am happy with rather than just matted hair.
