there has been something niggling me about the aesthetic of the white pipe
it jars a little – perhaps due to its sterility and lack of prescence
I have been investigating and considered spraying or making my own pipes but have found some matt black piping and accessories which give the work more authority. It is also, less obviously, cheap plumbing material and becomes more sculptural
I am happier with the result – it adds to the feel of drawing within a space
I projected Wizard of Oz footage onto components and pipes and used the opportunity to photograph for catalogue for degree show
