I have taken a studio in an industrial unit in the town where I live – it is part of a new artist collective which I am now part of – see Unit3 – we intend to provide affordable spaces for artists, exhibition and test spaces as well classes and workshops in the future.
To acquire this space now will enable me to work in a space that won’t inhibit the work I choose to do in scale but also a good transition to when my degree finishes.
I feel that it is important to be surrounded by other artists to establish healthy criticism, motivation and opportunities both now and in the future.
